Legal and Compliance Manager

About The Role:

This is a legal/compliance lead role that will be responsible for ensuring HSB's brokerage activities remain aligned with regulatory requirements. Acts as the primary regulator interface (submissions, audits, correspondence), owns contract and NDA review, and drives compliance strategy as fintech regulations evolve. The main goal and aim of this role is to help lead the legal and compliance team to achieve clean regulator-facing record, no overdue submissions, a refreshed compliance policy set reflecting current rules, and reduced legal-review turnaround for the commercial team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the company’s legal and compliance functions, ensuring alignment with regulations from BAPPEBTI, OJK, and ICDX.

• Act as the primary liaison with regulators, handling regulatory submissions, audits, and correspondence

• Monitoring and reviewing legal documents, including complex agreements, NDAs, and corporate contracts, ensuring all terms protect the company’s interests

• Handle escalations of client complaints that require compliance input or direction, ensuring proper follow-up and alignment with regulatory standards

• Drive compliance strategy, risk mitigation, and policy updates in response to evolving fintech regulations

• Work closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure business activities meet all regulatory obligations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (Master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus)

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Legal and Compliance, with at least 1-2 years in a fintech or financial services company.

• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and corporate governance, particularly those under BAPPEBTI, OJK, and ICDX.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience interacting directly with regulators

• High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Agile, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong willingness to learn and continuous improvement mindset.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred.

• Experience in utilizing AI tools to assist productivity is a plus.
